Approximately 89% of the theaters are in the United States and Canada. There are theaters in the United States in 30 states and the District of Columbia, in the urban areas. Some of the other countries that AMC has theaters is in Mexico, Hong Kong, France, and the United Kingdom.

The company's roots go back to the early 1900's and the company tries very hard to uphold their reputation they have earned over the years. They are destined to provide premium entertainment to their customers and one way they do this is to have several movies to choose from. Their buildings have more than one cinema within one building and everyone can choose the movie they want to watch. More than 240 million moviegoers chose to go to the AMC or Loews theaters in 2007. The company's reputation can be seen in everything from the smallest details to the groundbreaking ideas which have changed the movie industry today. , believe that the landmark called Loew's Jersey Theater, should serve the community as a not for profit arts and entertainment center that will increase the visibility of the performing arts into the lives of the people of Hudson County. They want it to present quality programming which will change the preconceived divisions between real and artificial. They want their children to be able to see and hear the real arts and know the different ones there is out there to enjoy. They want their program to highlight the best accomplishments of the American stage and motion picture arts.

The Friends of the Loew's feel that Loew's should include shows from different arts and traditions of the many people who make up the area and county. By combining these different arts in the one of the finest Movie Palaces, the group can renew and perpetuate the "art of American entertainment". The group wants film presentations to be a big part of the programming as well as stage performances. They will also try to provide educational packages and student discounts in order to make it easy for students to enjoy the arts as well as the adults.

The programming that is going to be scheduled, will include, Jazz and Swing concerts, Rock and R&B concerts, Folk and Country concerts, Classic Films, Multi-Cultural programs, Touring musicals and Dramatic plays, and Children's programs.
